Hi my names Chris I have just purchased a silver 2009 gen 2 Tuono R and so far its all good ,These days I mainly ride enduro green laning in the Wilts Dorset Somerset area but found I was missing a Vtwin in my life so thought I,d give the Tuono a go
I had 2008 R1 and SV1000s before that and now along with the Tuono I have 2014 KTM 350 EXC and 2013 KTM Freeride 350 two of the best enduro bikes money can buy just wish I had the physique and skill to ride them full tilt but being STUMPY LOL its a challenge to stay on but its brilliant fun ,before I turned to green laning I did track days on a 2002 SV650 mini twin that my brother used to race and many moons ago I raced in 1300 production with a tuned Yamaha YZF1000 EXUPRU so that a little about my biking history and what I,m at today ,I,m still trying to get my Tuono to feel mine and handle the way I like but once I do I think its gonna be a real fun ride .

Not lately Mr B.

Would not start last week end, checked everything, carb off, jets ok, valve clearance, cam timing, spark ok, new plug, float height, etc

It just back fires and won't start.

Tried again this morning and it had several back fires, the last one through the carb was enough to make the bike catch fire, had to blow it out, bit of a panic moment.

Suspect needle valve is sticking causing massive flooding issue.

Hope to be out on the T a bit more soon, keep posting your routes and I will tag along.

Had another go tonight.

I thought that I would eliminate fuel issues while I had the carb off.

So, got a squirt bottle with petrol in, gloves on and the missus on the starter button.

Big back fire, gloves on fire, fire in inlet manifold, squirty bottle on fire.

Can't really recommend this as a way of testing.
