New to riding/aprilia, questions on exhaust

I just picked up a 07 tuono (1,200 miles) from a friend who had "wrecked" it, however it runs fantastic just a few cosmetic damages (broken headlight, bent footpeg), but nothing I cant order and replace myself. I have a few questions seeing as how I am new to Aprilia. How do I know if the bike is EU or the other? Also when I start the bike up after its been sitting for 2 years (it had fuel saver in it) it backfires when I apply throttle but I'm assuming that's normal, however when I leave the bike running it appears to be smoke ( I think is exhaust) coming from under the seat area, I think it's just a leak from the exhaust pipe that come under the seat to the right side of the bike. Does anyone know what else this could be or how to fix it?

Cheers!

Good morning Mensedz,
Have you drained all the old fuel and put new in ?

As it's stood so long with old oils in I would give it a full service and and see if the problem is still there.

Smoke from under the seat on a bike that's stood so long, might be a mouse nest.

Have a good look but next time you start it have a fire extinguisher ready.

I am going to school about 2 hours away from my bike, but I'm trying to bring it over here shortly, so I will keep that in mind when I start it up next time after I drain the fuel to put in new fuel. Thank you for the advice and will keep you posted with what happens!

Thank you again!
