New to forum with a question.

Hello Tuono riders. I'm seriously considering the Tuono to replace my 2008 KTM SDR. The three bikes on my short list are: the Tuono (of course), the 2013 KTM SD, and the Triumph Speed Triple. The problem is I live in Japan and the Tuono here is power restricted to 106HP! I asked the bike shop guys if it's just a map upload to restore full power but they don't know or just cannot say due to various reasons.

So my question, is it just a new map need to restore full power? If no one knows will the RACE ECU restore full power? I really want the Tuono but not if I can't have it with FULL POWER.

Was also a technical manager employee of Aprilia before setting up on his own so will probably know.

Well I emailed him but I didn't get any useful information. Nice guy and all. He recommended I email Aprilia Tech Support in the UK. Anyone have a good email address for them?

Assuming we are talking V4 Tuono here,...according to the parts book,the only differences I can see between the Euro and Japanese versions are the ECU and exhaust silencer.So I guess a race ECU and exhaust would restore full power.

Thank you Keith! Yes, that is correct, the Tuono V4R. I did try the Aprilia Customer Service link but the page would load up correctly for like a second and than switch colors so I could not tell what to enter into the different fields, weird. Wow! Where did you locate the parts manuals? Got a hyperlink? The ECU and exhaust silencer is all that's needed, GREAT. I am beginning to image a new Aprilia Tuono in my driveway.
