Just thought I'd let you all know I have ordered a new 1100 seat from sp motorcycles in Exeter, not that pricey and hopefully a massive improvement on the current obismal attempt of a seat, I must say I find the staff there really obliging they also supplied me with the rsv tail unit as recommended by other members on here so many thanks for putting me in touch! . I had a sit on an 1100 tuono factory in my local dealers and found the seat a much needed and welcome improvement, plus it fits straight on.. Piccys will follow

Was it more grippy or just more comfortable? because i dont find the comfort an issue, Just dont like sliding onto the pillion when grabbing a handful

I agree with the sliding thing and initially didn't really have a comfort issue but after a while I do find it to hard so I am hoping the new seat will irradicate both issues, read on an American forum it does rectify both so I took the gamble plus it looks a better shape in my opinion, i think mine has been recovered and someone has tried to add more foam (badly)

Let us know how it goes then I guess, Im loathed to buy a suade cover for mine and re-cover it when i could just go find a newer model to fit and go.

Will do gav, I hope to get it next week

G'day Neo, writing from Sydney, Australia, I'm picking up a new 2016 TuonoRR but being a short guy (163cm) I am needing to get the seat either shaved or replaced with a gel seat. Do you know if your supplier does custom seats?

G'day Gabriel, I spent some time about 15 years ago in good ole Oz, after travelling around a bit I loved manly and stayed there a while in manly backpackers on the corner of raglan St, I got friendly with the bloke who ran it and I hired a harley from the city we Road to palm beach through a few national parks what a BEAUTIFUL country you have I'd like to return one day.. Anyway away from the misty eyes of aus.. Sorry bud the answer to your question is no there just a main dealer ordering in a new seat for me. There's not a lot of scope for customising the seats as there's not much foam I wouldn't imagine, unlike the old days where we used to have like at least 4" to play with! I'll ask about here and if I find out a recommended custom seat fabricator I'll ping you a pm bud, good luck.. Ps love the profile pic, if you wore some of Princes old shoes you'd not have a problem reaching the floor

Just got a 1100 factory after my 2014 V4R and think the seat is night and day difference. 2 hrs of riding on the old seat my arse was pretty numb, been out on the Factory for a couple of 4 to 5 hr rides and forgot all about how my arse used to hurt.

That's great news pugslee I am hoping for a marked improvement, can't be any worse than the ironing board atm

I too find the 1100 Factory seat to be very comfortable. Probably one of the best oem seats on the many bikes I've had.

I've just come back from 5 day trip to some road racing and touring in Ireland and also a night in Oban Scotland, just under 1200 miles. Just ridden home from Oban about 300 miles today. Factory seat is defo better than the gel one I had on my tv4 1000 waaaay more comfy. No sore arse at all wahoo

Time to start searching ebay then I think, Is it all the same fitment?
Bolts straight on I'm told.. Still awaiting mine, try sp motorcycles mine was a shade under 70 quid [emoji106]

1st seat looks awful so well done , I ride till fuel req then get my ARSE rested which is 80/100mls or so (09 v2 )

Obviously the first picture was the ironing board and excuse my messy garage

Cheers snowman yeah awful is the only word for it I think someone tried to shove some cotton wool in it at some point for extra padding or sanitary towels

Stomp grips to stop the sliding. I went for the gel seat after a 1500 mile tour around France last week. First time I've found the normal seat uncomfortable. I'll try this if the gel seat is no good

Nice one mikkel was a tad over 80 quid delivered all in came in about a week from Italy sp motorcycles in Exeter got it for me
