Hey Guys

well, im currently an SP1 rider and figured its about time for a new bike. This time, i'm going for a brand spanking new RSV1 Factory :pirate

Wot i'd like to know from you vets is some advise on aftermarket exhausts (My sp1 is standard):

1- I heard that the police here in the UK were going to make loud pipes a "points" fine, is this true/happened?

2- I will be buying the bike with its factory pipes so this should help for resale but, i'm looking at deals that are about £9.5k with Akropravik slip-ons fitted, is this worth it?

3- I really like the idea of something special for the exhausts, what options are there out there like high-rise or something? (links to pictures would be good!)

4- can you think of anything that a Factory edition needs as an extra? Not too bothered about power so don't think i need a Power Commander (unless there is something about the fuel injection i don't know about?).

I can get the bike for £8.5 without the slip-ons so, I reckon I have a budget of up to a grand for this mod.

Look forward to your advice and suggestions! :thumbup

Welcome to the site fella, you'll absolutely love the Factory i'm sure. Akrapovic cans are simply the best and are about £550 for the SP road legal removeable baffle slip ons, see here. Click on 06 Mille, then exhaust and chips

You'll need get the ECU switched to Map2 through an Aprilia dealer. As you're showing as london based, have you tried these people for a price? On reputation alone, they are probably the best Aprilia Dealer in the country

No other mods needed for the Factory, it's got everything. Change the gearing to 15/42 ( one down front, 2 up on the rear as these bikes are way too over geared as standard ) and get the suspension set up to your liking

excellent help Legs!

Thats good news, cheap price AND the "free" Akro slip-ons. I'm guessing if I buy from these guys they will fit the slip-ons and change the mapping for me? Will try and get to them next weekend, maestro card primed and armed :thumbup

What gets me is that this bike is i think this is an insurance group less than my SP1 :doug

edit: im from outer west london so that shop is ideal location!

Yes, they'll fit the Akras and change to Map2 and adjust the CO and they'll look after you very well indeed fella :thumbup

medal duly pinned mate!! tee hee.(he meant Co2)
Akras are great, got a full 2-1 Ti system on mine...but before you get cans have a look at Tigcraft.:doug. change the gearing down 1 front up 2 back
as was said.
Clutch can be upgraded as later models have more probs with them.
cheers
