Been lurking about for a while and have a big scoot Atlantic 500 winter steed.
I used a 2008 Gen2 on a trackday a few years back and loved it but this 2011, 11000 mile Vee 4 is something else!
This motor is absolutely stunning!
. Broad torque range and more than enough power for me to handle at my advancing state of life. Only negative point so far is the piss poor headlight - any tips to improve it, especially on main beam!
Also considering manufacturing an adjustable suspension link from a stainless steel turnbuckle and spherical rose joints - anyone else tried this. wondering if 10mm rose joints would suffice or whether I need to go to 12mm..................... looking forward to any advice on that front as it should be possible to make it for under £50
Is it normal for it to produce an almighty "clunk" stationary from neutral? Clutch play is good, it doesn't drag with engine off - there is some radial movement in the sprocket so I'm guessing the cush rubbers are worn at 11,000 miles?? I hate the mechanical unsympathetic banging into the 'box dogs - feels like it'll break them! Using Motul 3000V - any particular brand better at keeping the clutch from dragging?
Thanks in advance
