Hello to all,
Firstly can I say that this forum is a great help.
Anyway here we go:

Bought a 2003 mille on saturday for general fun and trackdays this coming season.
Cosmeticaly it is reasonable.
Rode it home on saturday and did about 100 miles or so and engine felt really strong.
In the garage now, fairings off, brakes stripped pads and calipers cleaned and bled the lines through sorted,
Dropped the coolant and put in new, sorted.
Oil dropped, new oil and filter.
Knew about the starting issues from the forum so checked the battery (s**t)thats in the bin, got the yuasa14bs. Took out the starter solenoid, it looks like the original and ordered the yamaha jobbie.
Checked all the other connector blocks and checked the earth all seems in order.
Anybody suggest any other basic things to do before I put it back together and hopefully get it fired up.
Also does anyone make a headlight cover? can anyone point me in the right direction.
Once again thanks to all who contibute to this site the information is invaluable.
regards
Martyn

If you have the "click" type cooling system clamps instead of the nice radiused screw types, change them. Many threads here on that subject.

Just get on and ride the bugger til something breaks:devil

Welcome to the zone:thumbup

Yes, welcome mate. And as above mentioned just ride it till somethings brakes............

Then let us know next week what it is ............:nana

Welcome fella.

Clean out the disc bobbins with WD40 and brake cleaner, you should be able to turn them with you thumb and forefinger. The brembo discs are susceptable to judder if these become clogged. People then replace discs for no reason.

The rear suspension linkages are prone to siezing up over time and is often ignored. strip and grease up.

Set you front and rear suspension static sag and then put compression and rebound back to standard on the Showa forks and Sachs shock. Std RSV Mille handle very well on std settings. You can fine tune from there
