Visordown is reporting that MV officials have quietly confirmed a new MV Agusta Superbike is set to launch in the next few weeks. Expected to not carry the F4 name, the new model would be one of the first truly new MV’s in the last 10 years, and is expected to signal the return of MV to premiere racing. More after the jump.
During the recent launch of the Brutale, MV employees let leak that the new bike was in the works, and almost ready for debut. We’re not sure if this the same diminutive “F3″ that we’ve been seeing spy shots of recently, or a larger superbike platform that has yet to be seen (an F5 perhaps?).
Either way, the best part about this rumor is that MV Agusta is set to go racing in a “top flight class”, as the new model is apparently due in large part to MV’s desire to get back into racing. This likely means a return to either WSS or WSBK for the iconic Italian brand. With Harley-Davidson giving the Italian firm the green light to take it to the track, MV looks set to show-up with a new bag of tricks.
After a disappointing launch of a visually identical, but all “new” Brutale,*we’re eager to see how MV Agusta follows up the F4 Superbike, which is easily one of the most lusted after motorcycles in modern motorcycling. We wait with bated breath.
