Hi everyone, just thought i would say hi and let you know you have another new forum member.
Only passed my test in March, bought a knackered ZX6R, then got a mint 98 ZX9R and was quite happy.
Then my brother (Gasboy), had his 2001 Mille RSV up for sale, so I bought it (it sounds so good i just had to :thumbup)
First time I rode it he asked "what do you think". I said "It's like driving a diesel". After riding normal in-line 4's the V-twin's are totally different. But I am starting to like it (I don't have to brake so much, just throttle off ;-)
But i have some questions and wondered if anyone could help me out.
1. What's going on with the bike stand! Jesus talk about just waiting to fall over in a gust of wind! He said there might be some kind of mod that will make it safer.
2. New front wavey disks were fitted a few month's ago and the brakes judder. I have searched on the forum and found that the bobbins (round pegs held in by circlips) need to move. These are solid, and it seems i need to free them off. But why? I don't get how this could make the brakes judder.
3. I live in London with underground parking. It has no power supply for an optimate. Any ideas what i could do? Like a quick release battery connector and quick seat removal so i could take the battery back into the flat?
4. The Power commander III (not usb) is fitted. I tried to hook it up to the pc but no com ports detected the Power Commander. I tried it with the bike running, Ign on and off but nothing. Am i doing something wrong? (might just get the usb version)
Anyway that's about it for now, I hope you guys could help me out.
