Hello everyone. I have been meaning to write a post on here for some time. I have joined a couple of Aprilia Forums. I thought I would share a couple of bikes that I had over the last year and the latest bike that I bought which is a Factory Tuono black dream. I recently met (Nickyboy) from aprilia.me down at Boxhill in Dorking and we got talking. You won't be surprised to find out it was about Aprilia's and he recommended joining up to the online forums.

I bought my first V twin last may. An 07 plate RSV in Silver and Red with only 7500 miles on the clock. I loved this bike, the only modifications that I made were 15-42 gearing and Akrapovic exhausts.

One more picture of this bike back in its standard form.

I part exchanged this bike after a year of ownership for a low mileage Aprilia Tuono Daytona 300. I acutally managed to Part ex the bike for more than I paid the year before which was a result. I was starting to find the racing position uncomfortable and my girlfriend often liked to come on the back so it was time for a change.

Aprilia Tuono Dayton - 08 - Only 3700 miles on the clock when I bought it. I couldn't believe the difference the handlebars made.

This was the bike I had at the time I met Nickyboy at Boxhill. Except it had Akrapovics on it at the time we were talking about the differences between the factory and non factory models. I started to get the urge to get a factory or at least upgrade my Daytona to the same level. Anyway an 11 plate Black Dream popped up and I snapped it up for a really good price and travelled up north to get it. Heres a picture of it when I got home.

Im sure you can imagine how I felt with these two in the garage.

I decided to sell the Tuono Daytona and start modifying the Black dream.

I decided to make a custom belly pan for my Tuono based on the lower fairing from and 07+ RSV - What do you think ? I personally really like the look and think it suits the bike better.

Here are a couple of pictures of it fitted to the bike.

I basically shaved off the lugs. and trimmed the area for the stator to fit. Purchased the centre piece which I trimmed down and bolted them together and then bolted it to the bike. The panels were sprayed black to match the bike and I fitted the lions head decal. The only other modifications this bike has is the twin Akrapovics & 15-43 Gearing. I will be looking to increase the intake sound next. If anyone can send me some recommendations that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking. I hope to meet some of you in person soon.

All the best

Matt

Hi, and welcome mate.

I love the idea of the rsvr lowers for the bellypan. I think the extended length under the exhaust looks way better.
My only criticisms would be that I'd prefer to see the upper edge follow the lines of the water tank cover, and clutch, rather than just lap over them.
But that's just me, I'm a really fussy sod. :lol
Great job mate. :thumbup

greetings and salutations :thumbup
got to agree with Tifa on the bellypan but nice job and a nice bike :yes

Thanks Guys. I can see your point on the lines of the water bottle tank. I might try and use the previous gen RSV side panels 04-06 to make something that flows a little better.

Any ideas for increasing the induction performance and sound ?

Well it would'nt be right if we all liked the same thing,so I'm going against the grain here and say that I dont like it.
I dont like the handguards and the belly pan looks just plain wrong,....oh yeah, the rad guards want painting black.

But hey, thats just an opinion of some old tosser on the interweb that knows F all,so dont take it to heart.

For more intake roar, you need an open air filter kit.Tash on here can sort you out on them.(If he's still about?)
Welcome to the site btw.

Welcome mucker, not my cup of tea but smashin machines nonetheless.

Welcome on board M.
I'm with Tifa on the belly pan, and not a fan of the hand guards, but we are all different, and our bikes always to individual taste.

Cracking bikes though, enjoy.
Nice to have a newby with a good intro. :thumbup

the black dream is a work of art in itself.

much as i appreciate folk putting their own stamp on things, please put the beautifully made belly pan back on...

I'm only 15 minutes away from Boxhill - let me know next time you're heading over that way. Good little run from there to Newlands Corner.

I will do SlippySlappy - I will give you a PM soon. I go up to Oakdene off the A20 on Wednesday evenings sometimes which is a good run.

Bit of a mixed reaction to the Belly pan. I like it so I'm going to keep it on the bike. I've removed the Hand guards now. Just waiting to receive the induction and filter kit which I will hopefully be able to fit next week

Your bike, your rules, your taste!

Welcome, black dream is a....well.... Dream :thumbup

Welcome dude from one black dream owner to another :thumbup

It's a cracking bike & great colour scheme. Not a million miles away from you in Purley so maybe bump into you one day.

Apparently only 9 were ever sold in the UK so take good care of her.

All the best.

My local Aprilia garage in East Grinstead mentioned it to me when I picked the bike up from them on Saturday. Didn't sound like a lot & stand to be corrected if anyone has other info.
