Hi Guys, Not really introduced myself, but posted on behalf of Eric Middleton "Dynamo" R.I.P. m8.
Got a 04 Black Tuono from Edinburgh :thumbup had a 2000 mille before that, but the Tuono rocks. A few mods, Oz wheels, Hyperpro fork springs, filter and a number of carbon bits. Check the forum for information which great. But looking for anyone who has changed their profile front from 70 to 60.... Believe the turn is so much sharper other than dropping forks through yolks by 2 rings (already done). :thumbup

hi colsmac and welcome to the Tzone.

Can't answer your query on tyres sizes, never thought to play with the front tyre size /profile. Have gone from a 190 to a 180 on the back for quicker turn-in, though tbh, can't notice a huge difference.

Hi Aka Gilo, thanks m8 for the welcome.

yes done that too.... since having the Mille, and you are right it is difficult to notice much difference. Have standard rear shock and have never felt any problems with the rear, but the front sometimes feels as tho it will fold when pushing it. Had heard that a 60 profile gives a bigger contact patch, hence better grip.... But interested in anyone's experience on this :dunno:dunno:thumbup

Ey up Colsmac, is that a dealers name ???, your front tyre won't be on the deck much mate. Fatter profile be better for braking though eh.

hi and welcome to the zone colsmac, sorry to hear about Dynamo, met him at cadwell on March 18th, top bloke and a good rider too !!

Hi Nob, No..:no not a dealer sorry m8....think of Colin, think of scottish....get it now...crap I know, but had it for absolutely ages. Thanks for your welcome. :thumbup

Can't speak for the Tuono but i had a 60 profile on my Ducati 748 and it felt horrible. Yes the turn in is sharper but it makes the bike feel less stable and goes from little turn in to start, to going over very quickly. Didn't like it at all and changed to a 70 profile very quickly.

What tyres are you running now?

fit like Col min.....need tae add ye tae mah list o Scottish T ownin loons fur a meet!

Welcome tay the fray lad. Circle of life and all that... Our ranks were diminished with the loss of Dynamo. It seems fitting that a mate of his should step into the breach. They're a big set of shoes to fill lad. I'm sure you will do a great job... and that Dynamo is smiling down on us all right now.

col, welcome mucker, so sad aboot yer mucker. Don't know aboot tyres other than they don't last and they cost a fortune.

mmmmmm...... thats got me thinkin now.:banghead don't no if a bike like Tuono wi sit up bars would make it better than sports bike, but thanks m8 fir feedback :thumbup

The wide bars are better for turning and the more room on a T for moving about means much more fun than a racer type.

I would stick with the std 120/70 on the front. Some early Ducati 748's and monsters came with a 120/60 as std.Sure it made the turn-in quicker,(allegedly!) but the bikes could get twitchy and very nervous,.....they soon went to 70 section.
Oh,and welcome to the madhouse.
