Those of you with later (post 04) Rsv's might be interested to know that Aprilia/Denso have a new lower magnetism flywheel (370 watt) to help prevent melting wiring looms and stator burnouts.
It's not clear if it's a recall or just an upgraded spare part or exactly when it will be available to joe public.
The same flywheel is fitted to Honda Fireblades and Honda recently extended stator/loom warranties to 4 years on affected bikes to counter the problem so it seems Denso cocked up a bit.
