Hi guys,

got myself a new Eprom and managed to break off a pin, not the full lenght but the slim tip of it.
Are there any chances to repair it?

Here's a pic that shows where exactly i broke it

Stupidity at its finest...:angry

And before I forget to mention it, it already was installed by myself, but the bike didn't start, the EFI control flashed all the time. That's why I tried to pull it out again to try the old one. Any ideas why it wouldn't start?

There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago. http://rsvzone.com/forums/showthread.php?19232-Broke-chip-pin I think Sensei said it may be possible to repair pins, but soldering a piece on could damage the chip.

What is the history of the chip? Was it new? If used then did it work previously? Does it need a daughter board like the encrypted chips?

We've all done stupid stuff ;)

Okay, I found the problem.
The prevoius chip had a daughterboard and I didn't know that I had to pull it out, too! Now I fixed it provisionally, some buddy of mine who has worked for a console modding team is going to fix the chip tomorrow.
The bike is running, the airbox is open, it works better than before and everything has come to a good end for me :)
