Like the title says I need to get a new one of these
for my RSV-R Colin Edwards rep
What I want to ask is there any thing better than the standard one
and if so what have people fitted please

And where the best place to get it

Thanks for that guys
have had a look around and that my thought's as well
but just ask on here first before I take the plunge
Best to ask first :smilie

Oberon, definitely! Had mine fitted for a few years and several thousand miles, and it has been faultless. Aprilia should have chosen this as the OEM part. Smooth, reliable and no more black fluid. :)

Can the oberon cylinder be fitted on your own, or is it a garage/dealership job?

It's quite a simple job for anyone with basic mechanics ability. If you are happy bleeding brakes, then this is just as simple. The cylinder itself is held on by three bolts, and the hydraulic line is a straight swap. If in doubt, ask someone to do it for you; it only takes 30 minutes, if that.

remove clutch line and clamp, remove three bolts. Put on new slave and bleed bud.

I'll be honest, I've not had to bleed the brakes before, but being an engineer, I'd like to think I can give this a go without it blowing up.

Follow the procedure and you'll be fine. Just make sure you keep a bucket of water handy just in case you get any brake fluid on the paintwork.
