Just got my new '15 Caponord Thursday. I've been riding since 1960 on mostly Japanese bikes, plus a Guzzi & Triumph. Put 300 miles on her already, and am thrilled with my choice. I want to mount my Givi topcase on it, but can't get a parts breakout for the adapter plate that bolts to the bike. Also, I'm having no luck finding frame sliders. If any of you have any suggestions on sources for these items, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Howdy,

24 years on Hondas... Picked up my "Glam White" Capo (according to the Aprilia catalog, yes...) on June 22nd (purchased on June 18th).

I saw frame sliders here, under "Crash Protection." And a ton of other useful stuff.

However-- I have never ordered from here (yet, anyway...), and so I certainly do not vouch for them or endorse them with an informed opinion one way or the other. I am simply seeking resources for new Capo stuff, just like you... :) Thus far, it seems like a healthy selection at reasonable prices.

So, good luck! And check out those "ADV" crash bars... maybe for the guys who just can't accept that the Capo ain't a GS, I guess... though perhaps they're useful to some.

Okay-- so we *do* have an "SUV" type bike... big, fast, comfy & capable tourer. But it's more like a Porsche Cayenne or Range Rover Sport or Cadillac Escalade type of SUV... dirt if ya really gotta make it down to the campground, but why seek rocks and sand when it eats up all kinds of roads soooooooo nicely. Roads! No matter the condition!

In love... the honeymoon period, of course. 660 miles so far... . What a brilliant motorcycle. So many "mode" combos-- it's like having six different bike characters in one stealthy bike. Want a big burbling Harley-esque cruiser? Set ATC to 3, ADD to 2 helmets, fueling to Rain, and burble along at 40mph in 4th, yanking full throttle to growl the twin and turn Harley clone heads... so goofy! We come from The Future to burble along and blow your minds....

Want a huge Superbike in the old litre-class, like the big Honda Hurricanes? Set ATC to 1, ADD to 1 helmet (really feel the lonnnng wheelbase then), fueling to Sport, and just duck behind the screen to rocket away on your 100+ hp sled, front wheel inching up. So funny! Guys with feet tucked up their butt, trying to keep up and thinking, "What the heck IS THaT thing??"

I just love this bike... it's got so much going for it to make it fun and interesting (and especially, safe to ride & enjoy fully). Yeah, thirsty... she guzzles a bit (though I did manage 48mpg on sustained high gear freeway riding...), and there's a monster amount of heat wafting out of this engine. (Heated grips? Heated seats come standard!) And the panniers are like 1980s tech afterthought... but then the perfect girl really isn't the perfect girl if she doesn't have something wrong with her to emphasize her uniquely beautiful qualities, inside and out. (Otherwise it wouldn't be an Aprilia... it would be a Honda, and there's nooooo way Honda would make a bike like this... a huge bike with so much raw STUFF.)

And... okay, it does look like some kind of Abominable Spaceship UFO Robo Tie-Fighter for Star Wars cartoon nerds... but whatever! You'll never mistake all the other "ADV" bikes for your galactic rocket sled. So crazy fast! Let the GS crowd have their muddy boxers, and let the KTM guys get lost in the woods, let the V-Strom guys remind you they saved a few bucks, and let the Chickenbeakstrada guys go .012 seconds quicker to the next red light... No hard feelings, really-- because hey, y'all coulda bought the Aprilia. But we did. And so we know. Yes!

Brrrrrraaaaaawwwwwwwwww, brrrrrraaaawwwwww... it's quite addicting. Pure smiles. And in the mountain passes it feels like a 300lb sportbike, the ADD instilling an impossibly nimble nature into such a tall, long, big bike. Combined with ATC, just one word fits: Confidence. Ride quickly and safely with confidence. Genius, I tell you.... this is what I always thought a motorcycle could be. It's HERE today... and hard to believe that this tech is still in its infancy. I read so many articles about, for example, the KTM Super Duke R... rave after rave, what-a-bike-it's-crazy-good. And yet, I just wished that all those goodies could be coupled to a bike like THIS-- with a harmonious balance that makes for a capable big bike for any tour. And it's here... what a delicious treat for practical people who travel on motorcycles constantly (as opposed to having the weekend toy in the garage, for instance...). I don't need no stinkin' car... I got a Capo!

Bravo, Aprilia! Some of us were *never* gonna pay five grand more for the chickenbeak, and all the "ADV" crazed folks have plenty of other bikes to dirty up and crash.... This is a perfect bike for people who know exactly what they want from a motorcycle.

Cheers!
