New boots

How do everyone, some help/reccomendations required here. My bike boots have finally fallen apart after years of faithful service. The soles have actually fallen off, and the zips have lost their tags. I have mended these countless times, glueing the soles on and bodging the tags with wire and cable ties, but it's time to admit defeat and shell out for a new pair. My problem is that I am a bit of a lard arse and have developed incredibly large calf muscles to support the tonnage of my upper-body. This means I have massive problems finding boots that will fit me properly, indeed they all seem to be modelled on people who have pipe cleaner thin legs! So has anybody else got the same problem as me, and what boots do you wear?

PS My current boots are about 10 years old now, IXS from J&S in Watford. Prior to that it was a pair of Frank Thomas Aqua boots, neither of which fit particularly well.

Sidi's are another one on the potentials list, though I suspect that these too, are for the more sparrow-legged amongst us. Don't know till I try though, so cheers for that!

Don't bother with Arlen Ness, they're good value but crap, Stylmartin are pretty good, I would go for Sidi, had mine for ten years and the calves are adjustable.

hi mate. Iv got a pair of sidi vertigo's. They have an adjuster on the back of the boot to tighten or loosen around the calve area and are the best boots iv ever owned.

Have you tried the Dainese ones that go inside your leathers? You wont have the thickness of your leathers to contend with then.

Any links mate? Id be interested in getting a look at them for sure. Will have a spy on ebay in the mean time

Supertech Rs by Alpinestars for me, the best protection and comfort.
(I had Daytona Evo 111'3 but they killed my feet and gave me a bone spur) I have crashed in a few pairs of the supertechs and they really work and are all day comfy (plus they dont squeek)
I do loadsa miles so they last me 2-3 years.
On my fourth pair now
ck

I just realised theres a zip on the calf of my leathers that allows me to wear them over the top of the boots, doh! lol
