I have been looking at the rally for the last 8 months. The dealer is prepping it for a test ride Saturday and I am ready to pull the trigger.
Other bikes I have looked at have all had multiple issues and problems but I find nothing but positive with the caponord.
Help me out... Am I plunking down money Saturday and why? Or Why not?
Thanks

Rockbyter,
I test rode it today and put money down.. there is an issue with the dfuleing they have to fix first..I dont know if there mech took it for a ride before they gave it to me or not..
Liked it and can see riding that thing to Tennessee and back with no problems.

I have found no real fuelling problems. Yes it can be a bit jerky in city if in the wrong gear but I find using a higher gear better. People tend to use the lowest gear when in traffic but I find that second or even third stops this happening.

There was something definitly wrong,, myGS 1100 had surging issues.. this was not that, this happened in 2 and 3 and 4th gear when doing a steady state..
If they dont fix it I will not accept the bike.
I have seen nothing on the net to suggest it is a known issue that is why I am confident the mechs can get it sorted out.

Hi Leebo, if it's not too late, your Rally should be perfect - otherwise don't buy it.

My TP 2014 model had a jerky throttle that I rode around by keeping the revs up around 4,000rpm....until it setled down after about 12,000kms. Others have posted that the Rally version has possible differences in camshafts and, maybe, a heavier crank (I'm guessing here.....I do not know for sure).

I believe the TP jerks were caused by a combination of; light crankshaft, touchy throttle body butterflies and chain snatch on a tight two cyl engine (with stupid tall gearing ratio's) - mine got better with mileage, but it took a lot of miles!

If the one you rode is playing up - then don't buy it!

Ps I have just sat on the 2016 DVT MS1200 and it is a game changer......it and the S1000XR BMW are light years ahead of the Caponord.......;)

Yeah I dont plan on it if they can't sort it out. I ride 10 to 12000 miles a year and there is no way you could ride it that way.. Like a old 8 cylinder car with a bad distrubuter.
I ride the new multi and the XR.. I did not like the XR seating position and that engine is just asking to go 100 miles an hour all the time. I liked the duc but not $6000 more.
I have been looking and riding for a few months now... It seems that the is bad to say bout every new bike,, with exception of the capo.. So I a, thinking this should be able to be sorted out..
I like the comfort and the ride and 125hp is enough for me..

Cheers Leebo, you are thinking as we do......I love my Caponord TP. Maybe if you rode another one from some other dealer you might notice a difference?

I reckon the Caponord wins on the comfort contest and the suspension is pretty damned good straight out of the box - but - if you don't like the demo ride, then it's not gonna be a happy relationship.......;)

I thought (from reading on the forum's) that the Rally was well sorted, unlike the earlier Travel packs. It's a mystery why some throttles are so badly set up....

Must be an Italian sort of thing eh(?)
