I picked up my 2007 Tuono Factory Friday, rode it in to work, turned in my badge and retired. Sometimes when I choppeed the throttle to shift into second it would stall (so much for a cool exit), so we will get that fixed at the 600 mile service. Any ideas about why it does that? I would suspect old gas it it had carbs...

Probably wants setting up properly.
I guess the bike is new old stock,...and not just done 600 miles in 5 years?:dunno

It's an 07 dudes.

Rr, yer need tae let it heat up afore yer pull away, say at least 65C.

Mine locked solid on one occasion after pullin away from a cold start up, 1" wide 6" long bitumastic strip stuck solid to the rear tyre.

I had to prize it aff wae a wid chisel.

Could be any of the things mentioned above, but tell them when its in for service, thats what your paying for.

As it is new (came out of the crate /w 374 miles), I have been warming it up to 150 F before riding it. I rode the additional 176 miles to get to the 600 mile service and had to fill the tank twice - it took 6.7 US gallons! It runs about 170-175 degrees, but climbs up past 210 while at stop lights on 50 degree days. It still stalls between first and second sometimes when it is fully warmed up and I haven't a clue why.

Anybody have any ideas about what is going on with my bike?

As I mentioned before,it sounds like it wants checking and/or setting up correctly.Needs to be done by an official dealer with the Axone,..not Joe Bloggs backstreet bodgers. If you are running aftermarket exhausts the mapping will need changing to Map2.(Again,done with the Axone)
If its still not right after that,it could be something like a faulty sensor or the stepper motor.
As the bike is new, surely it came with some sort of warranty?

I took the bike back after the 600 mile service and the dealer's mechanic was able to find where the hose leading to the vacuum sensor had been slit lengthwise on the bottom side (looked like sabotage). The bike was from a dealer who had gone out of business, so hard telling what the actual story was.

The new hose seems to have cured all the ills of my motorcycle and now I get a chance to use it as it was intended! Thanks for your thoughtful inputs - this would have been a very hard one to guess...
