Neutral Light staying on

G

GottaHurt

I changed the clutch oil jet and took out the wrong bolt at first .It pissed oil for a bit .Started the bike today and it seemed a bit noisy for a while , but the oil light didn't come on ..After a while riding , the neutral light came on and is staying on ,, Any ideas ?

Have you accidentally caught your neutral switch wire and shorted it out or even dislodged it and it's shorting on the casing?

It's just an inch or so to the right of the oil jet bolt. :thumbup

Amb , thanks for the info , i'll check it out ,.. But it was ok at first when I rode it for a while ..

Might not have any bearing on this , but I also changed the front sprocket ...

OK, if you disconnect the neutral switch wire and tape it up does the neutral lamp still illuminate?

If it does then you have what's known as back feeding, usually caused by an electrical fault elsewhere.

Let me know how you get on!
