Guys

I changed the seals on my ohlins forks

When i tipped the oil out the rebound adjustment rod fell out of the main threaded rod with a small spring and tapered brass coloured piece about an inch long

The brass but came out first then the spring, i assume the brass piec with the tapered ebd is part of the control valve for the rebound damping

With the forks in an upright position the small spring goes in first then the brass tapered piece. Does this go in point down with the rebound rod pushing the back of it or does the taper go in the rebound rod and the back of the brass thingy go against the small springs.
I,m sure someone who has had the ohlins forks apart will no what im talking about

Thanks

Hi Guys

thanks all sorted

Changing the seals on ohlins was a lot easier than i expected, no special tools needed at all. The worst bit was getting the wheel and bits off as half the bolts were semi seized.

ps if ever you need to get the front end off the floor so you have access to the forks, heres a way to do it. Get the back end on a paddock stand for stability. Get a stout pair of 6ft or higher aluminium step leadders that can be locked in the open (A)position. Straddle this across the bike directly over the top yoke, hoist the front end with a paddock stand then tie the yoke to the top of the step ladders with some thickish nylon rope. Let the front paddock stand down and voila the front end is off the ground
