Well after a getting the bike, i ended up getting a job and have to commute 70 mile round trip,

so over the past few days ive been looking at FJR's, as i know they are good for well over 100k and reliable so today struck a deal to straight swap the tuono. i was relatively happy with this at the time.

mine 2007 T 4k on clock, just payed 5k for it..

FJR 2003 30k on clock asking 4k

was told the tuono book price was 3400 ?

I went to the garage to get the bike out for a 100 mile trip this morning.all the bits and paper work ready to hand over....:roost .. and i stood there frozen for 10 min just looking at the bike, put all the bits on the floor rolled the bike out and ended up doing a 100 mile blast..

The Tuono is back in the my Garage and i really enjoyed that 100 mile :devious .

No Deal done.

Im guessing that if i ask on here if ive done the right thing is gona be wasted lol

So my Q is now i still have the Tuono, whats the type on mileage can i expect the bike to do with regular servicing ???

sounds like you made the right choice :) (making YOUR choice instead of listening to others)

have known people to get around 50k miles and more on the same engine, there is probably some crazy people with futuras rocking over 100k on their engines, chances of them having time to stop and post on a forum is slim though as its ride ride ride with them! :D

i would say the only real difference is parts costs, general maintenence etc is probably about the same, and if you take proper care of it you shouldnt ever need to find out the horrible cost of some parts ;)

Sounds like a good move to keep

Just buy a grands worth of divvy / blandit or similar for the commute

I've got an 08 Factory and its done 30,000 miles so far and its been SORN'ed off the road for over 18 months. I love riding it. My m8's keep taking the piss and ask me why I ride it and don't get something else, but thats just me. It will never be a Tuono or an FJR but I still love it and will never sell it. Who knows why....

Regular oil changes to flush carbon/clutch and other deposits pays dividends in the long run.
With luck it will deffo extend the life of your motor.
I buy oil whenever I see it cheap, and change it at about 2500-3000 miles.
Maintenance wise, it also pays to undo electrical connectors once a year and give then a good shot of acf50, or a decent contact cleaner.
It all helps

Well sadly it was short love affair with the Tuono. Work commitments and being made to travel a lot forced me to change the bike, would have loved to keep it and have 2, but cash at the moment is at a premium, got a good deal on the bike and found a nice Honda XX Blackbird with full givi set to replace it. It does just the job for a lot of mileage im going to end up doing, maybe in a few year when cash is more forthcoming ill end up with a newish or new Bike just for fun..

You done good! Blackbirds are the biz. I have a 97 carb 'Bird (black, natch) with only 14k on it. It's a keeper.

Yeh got the Blue type with only 17k on it. it had only done 50 mile over the last 3 year..
