My ride. Aprilia RSV -05 project. The bike is going to change its looks during next months. End result will is still a bit unclear. I'd like to turn this thing into something that is more lika a modern cafe racer instead a fighter.Everything depends tough of how much freetime & money I can spend in garage... Future modifications include this n that. For example custom underseat exhaust (if I find suitable cans and figure out some problems with the pipes), rizoma accessories (Probably this set if I can afford all the bits n pieces), round headlight, hiding extra wires, new signal lights (clear), homemade tail fairing, homemade bellypan and of course a new coat of paint.

Notice that above is only my wishlist. Who knows what I end up with. :dunno

Don't hesitate to tell me if you have any comments or ideas.

If I were you fella, I`d hunt down some fairings, a nosecone, some headlights and a pair of mirrors and turn it into a RSV-R.:dunno Turn more heads than a naked ladies final at Wimbledon. :devious

Keep the colour too, these are definately the quicker ones.:pirate

Is that headlight off a KTM?:dunno

Good luck with the project fella. I`m sure it`ll look the boll0x when your done.

I'm with you J, reckon with a little time and your fine suggestions the damn thing could look and go awesome...

Feel free to download the avatar if it helps you visualise the finished project:thumbup

Oh c'mon guys. Youre getting me confused with your ideas :D
I know you love your bikes as they are but this project of mine is quite far away from what it used to be and missing a lot of expensive parts. Aprilia fairings, lights etc. don't come cheap...

The story behind this naked bike is that it had suffered some sort of a fire damage. All the missing fairings were more or less damaged by fire. The bike was built up from the scratch by the previous owner. So far I've added and modified only bits n pieces here and there.

Im afraid that if I go for that original look itll take a lot of money and in the end I'd have a RSV thats clearly not original thus the resale value would not be that great. Buying a mint RSV would probably be a better investment.

Besides then I'd have to sell it and buy a Tuono. I like my rides to be naked :devious (in the ideal world I'd buy both. Gddmit)

The plan is to make something out of this project with a decent investment. I can make a lot of needed parts myself. Rizoma accessories and new cans will take most of budget anyway and I'd like to get those even if I go for original look. So the cheap way is the way to go :biggrin

And yes. That headlight is from KTM. Dead on there :thumbup

Fair comment fella.

Never really understood the whole naked thing. :dunno
I personally don't see the appeal in a sportsbike with MX bars on, and a vicelike grip needed when doing more than 90mph (on a circuit of course :devious).

I`m all for standing out with something people stare at, (thus my 32 stone wife):pirate so go for your life.:thumbup:thumbup

Just for badness mate, get it painted KTM orange with matt black wheels and bellypan. That is a very cool look al la RC8.

Fighters rule. The feel the wide bars give you. Easier wheelies. Stick out your elbows like motocross style...

And the MOST important thing... ITS NOT MADE BY THE FACTORY. ITS YOURS. It has YOUR id, YOUR input. Its YOU. It would piss me right off spending 15k on a bike and seeing the exact model parked up some where...

And before any one asks NO. I STILL have not finished my Fighter. :nana

I like it :thumbup In fact, I'd go so far as to say I think it looks brilliant. Also, the logic behind the work cannot be faulted. Keep us posted.

Flick - get your finger out! Don't give us any more excuses about work getting in the way. :nana

that looks amazing mate, I almost want to do that to mine, mainly because i think i prefer the upright position on the road.
