picked up my rsv on saturday, my girlfriend did not see much of me all bank holl weekend :)

gave the bike a quick clean monday evening and found a plug near the rear of the bike, i assume its for battery charging/optomising.

the problem i have is the garage i keep my bike in has no power and i cant get any to it perminantly.

My bike is a 2003 rsv (old shape)

1, do these bikes suffer from the clocks (odometer) reseting when battery flat/removed

2, has anyone tried using one of these to keep battery topped up??

Do a search fella , there is a whole bible of info on this subject. For the record, yes you do need to keep it charged or the clocks will setset when the battery is low and you'll have starting / sprag clutch probs unless you use the bike regularly

done a bit of reading on this, i def want to be topping the bike up with power when not in use (winter) the big prob i have is the lack of a power socket where the bike is kept. hence the solar panal.

Micky, those solar rechargers are a great idea,i used one a few years ago when i had the same problem as you(garage to far away to run a mains line).a mate of mine whos into camper vans  lent me one of his solar chargers and it worked a treat.

Cool, Its the BMF soon so il keep eye out for one there.

by the way, how did the solar charger perform over the winter?

From what i remember it did ok,no probs....well apart from some little pikeys trying to rip it off the roof of the garage,if you go to any caravan/camper shop you can pick them up quiet cheap.
