A few pics of the new project bike. It's currently at Fast Company to have a big bore, 205hp engine build and I'm sorting out the rest of the pieces now. This is what came in the mail today. BrakeTech CMC rotors are going on it as well.

Untouched donor bike (note full race Akrapovic system and Puig double-bubble screen already on it):

The first parts shipment. Blackstone TEK carbon fibre wheels, Vortex 520 sprockets (-1 on front, +2 on rear), Driven MXVR 520 chain, Lightech frame sliders, Ferodo brake pads.

Close-up of the rear wheel. You can see the weave and the CF pattern clearly here:

The rear sprocket carrier with Titanium bolts to save 0.2 pounds. Yes, it's overkill. :)

Total weight of this bike will be 395 pounds full of fuel. 205 horsepower. 22 pounds of unsprung mass are cut, of which 19 pounds are from the wheels and rotors (thus lowering Moment Of Inertia by roughly half).

Also to come, the BrakeTech Ceramic/Metallic Composite rotors, Ferodo front pads, Braking Wave rear rotor, Titanium caliper + pinch bolts, braided stainless brake lines, Pazzo levers, Gilles rearsets and a few other things.

Then I'm thinking of a custom paint job. Not sure what I'll do yet but it will be mostly solid colours if I do. Probably a metal-flake black with burgundy metal-flake accents, but I will want the flake to be really subtle.

Merry Xmas to me. :)

Global recession not affecting Canada then :)

Good luck with it mate, will be a beast when it's done.
