Hello all, just purchase a white 2014 aprilia tuono and so far have been loving the bike. Loads of power, sounds great even with stock exhaust, handles great and is unique when from the Midwest (north central Iowa). My only complaints so far is the stock seat is pretty hard for rides over an hour and the neutral is almost impossible to find unless you play with throttle when stopped. Ive already ordered the new 2016 tuono seat, 15T sprocket, and mra touring screen. Like i mentioned early i like the way the stock exhaust looks...ive heard of people gutting them to open them up and basically get the same flow and louder sound like a slip on? Whats your thoughts riders? Ive also heard you should get a race ecu (among other options) if you connect a slip on but should not attach race ecu if your using the stock can...if i gut it as i like the original aprilia look could i use race ecu and get the performance gains without damaging bike? Thanks for help everyone, G

P.s. whats your guys favorite slip on for tuono?

Welcome, I'm new to the v4s I have a gpr thunder slash I prefer the look as always had a large can of some sort on a bike so wanted a different more discrete look, it's not bad with the db killers inserted I took them out today. Easy job... Started it... Revved it... Put them back in... It sounds lovely in my opinion, I also dicked about with the flapper valve in the exhaust and it was just silly loud so re connected it and all was well again. Not had any other experience really I also have a carbon akra but it's to dull for me my mates have standard and akra cans the mate with the standard link pipe (no cat) has a better sound but I love the sound of mine as its loud but not to loud at 5k the flapper opens in the exhaust and it sounds gorgeous I believe in the states on full throttle the valve shuts again in the exhaust to dampen down the noise emissions as the regulations are different there which gives a few less ponies than us Europeans but this is only something I have read so not 100% speaking from experience. I am hoping to get 100 miles out of next tank of fuel... (No laughing) enjoy the tuono man
