nice pics. which track? looked like perfect weather....

how do you find flicking from left to right with the 190's compared to the 180's?

Looks GREAT man :thumbup

Cant tell from the pics if you are running the rear HUGGER :dunno

Any problems with chain/rear hugger clearance??

VERY nice HAGA rep, just dont drop it

Cheers Pete

Glad you liked the 190/55 Jon, i also think they are a good combination. I certainly like the positive feel, turn and grip of my Michelin 190/55 . Great looking photos mate! :thumbup

Thanks for the positive comments- I'm much happier with the 190/55 than the 180/55.

I have the standard plastic hugger on the bike and experienced no issues with either chain rub nor rubbing on the hugger.

In honestly doesn't look any wider on the bike than the 180, just has a 'rounder' profile.

I did find it harder work going from full lean to full lean- I'm not sure if this is due to the tyres extra width or extra weight?

I think the extra effort is negligable compared to the increased stability though. I don't have rearsets, but otherwise I'm confident the bike would have gone further over.

PS Pretend Haga rep with decals from Imageworks, cheap 'n' cheeful!

i have 180 rear and it worries me when i see the rear that looks like i've ridden off the edge, but the front has about another 1mm left of lean till it gets to the edge. i take it you can lean further with a 190 rear?

Great pics, what make/model are your 190's?
I'm too trying to decide on the whole 180 vs 190/55 thing, I'm currently running 180/55 diablo corsa's, but I feel it lacks stability at lower corner speeds, will a 190/55 improve this?

I use Dunlop GP Racer, 190/55. I've used them on my 2007 R6 too, and have been very pleased with them (and I rode the R6 much harder).

I've been assured that the 190 doesn't allow more lean, but I'm SURE it does.

To me it felt like the 180 was taking a 'square' shape due to the 6" rim, and so the edges had a squarer shoulder rather than nice, round, progressive shoulders.

I found the bike went off the edge and would run around tight/high lean corners on the very edge of the tyre. This caused massive over heating, a tiny contact patch and a loss of stability. It was also impossible to drive out without beginning to stand the bike up.

What I must say though, is this is based on Dunlops. I've been assured that Pirelli 180's have a different profile and suit either 5.5" or 6" rim.

Its the 55 that helps with better lean angle. Gives a more rounded profile than the 50. Just maths 55% or 50% of width gives you the profile/curve of tyre.

Just starting to rant on and on now :rant

I've gone from a pirelli diablo corsa III 180/55 to the same tyre in a 190/55.
I'm not a super fast extreme high lean angle rider, but in my comfort zone I had no chicken strips on the edge of the 180/55, and at times it felt like I was running out of tyre.
With the 190/55, at the same comfortable angles of lean, my rear tyre has 5mm chicken strips left to go and the feeling of stability is GREATLY improved over the 180/55.
I agree with Jon, the 190/55 definitely affords a greater possible angle of lean.

1st two and the last photos look like Druids at brands?? is it??:dunno

You, sir, are a lucky winner!

Yep, it's good old Druids at Brands Hatch sometime in July or August I think? I live quite close to the circuit (about 15ish miles) so it's the easy option for me.

:thumbup 1st corner I ever got my knee down at - thought my fairing was coming off with the rackett my knee slider was making ;)

deacs :thumbup

Cool pic's.....nice style!!!

I was recently at Pembray on Michelin Pilot Sports and was really happy until a friend said I was leaving darkies. May try Pirelli or Dunlop next.

Just put a 190/55 Bridgestone 014 on after running 180. I must say during high speed cornering I find the 190 is alot more stable but I am finding it hard to trust it with extreme lean angles :dunno It may be me but it feels a little vague.
