I got her back on the 20th December ...hooray. between Aprilia and Blade got everthing done for free ....effectively a new engine .... just completed my 500 mile running in. It's bloody fantastic to have her back ....what a bike, I've fallen in love all over again !!

No not really ... I wasn't given an answer .... I know two things ... I brought the bike with a fooked gearbox it's so so smooth now and the second looking back I was getting a fair few false neutrals maybe 2-3 each ride, if anyone is experiencing this please get your gearbox checked out.

Hi Barty,

Glad you've got it back and are happy, but please don't tell me it has been off the road since it went pop till now?
If so I hope they gave you a courtesy bike?

Hey Fugly
Good to hear from you buddy....ah yes ...in a word ...from 11th May to December 20th !!! Pleaded and argued for a bike all summer, Blade gave me a Triumph Tiger 800 for the last 3-4 weeks !!!
Hope your OK?

Hi Barty glad it's sorted and free too :thumbup but why the fook did it take them so long to sort it out and why should you have to argue about it :crazy glad your back on two wheels anyway :thumbup

Hi Blade
I can't tell you how many times I've thought it, said it, screamed it !!! Without doubt the most frustrating experience I've been through.... Aprilia shut down for a month over the summer ...which was handy ... tbh I just had to suck it up ...there was literally nothing I could do, I went back to Blade for my 500 mile running in service, we agreed I should had dropped the bike when it blew and claimed on the insurance !!! ....you live and learn ...let's meet up THIS summer

So it wasn't a warranty job then ? Does your bike insurance cover mechanical things still at least your back on the road and yes we will meet up hopefully when we start getting some decent weather :thumbup

It was outside both Manufacturers warranty and Dealership warranty....but the term was .... "as a gesture of goodwill" (I must have heard that term 20-30 times) everything was done for free parts and labour. Free 500 mile service.

Good result. Remember though, that under the EU Warranties Directive, if a defect can be proven to exist when the bike was new, manufacturers may still be obliged to undertake repairs outside of the manufacturer warranty period. It's tricky the way the UK implemented this Directive, but I suspect Aprilia felt they had some legal obligation in this case! Typical of manufacturers to keep starting 'goodwill' in such cases, because they don't want to set a precedent, of they can help it!

Hi Paul, yes it was a good result .... I was going try that route but was worried that we be stuck in litigation for months and months with nothing happening!! Yeah that was the gist of the meaning behind the gesture of goodwill statement !! Just so happy you have her back

Glad you got it back and am on the road again buddy.

All good over here cheers but am also bikeless at present (but for happier reasons) as my T is at AP having a 1060 conversion :lol

Really can't wait to get it back
