My 01's new look..what do you guys think??

So after owning the bike for a year and a half and seeing some of the factory decals begin to show signs of wear and fade I decided it was time for a new look. I never really much cared for the factory look that year...kinda cheesy in my opinion.

Here's what it used to look like:

And this is what it looks like now:

In person I like the new look, but in a way I'm not sure which looks better.
What do you guys think? :dunno

obviously the first pics are shot with a better camera...but try not to judge based on that.

Do not mind what you have done one bit, looks GREAT!! :thumbup

Much less 'the norm' but still clean and tastefull, very nice!!

I loved the look of your bike as it was, but the new look is pretty good too :thumbup

Apart from the ears stickers, not too sure about those :dunno

If I had a choice between the two styles tho' I'd pick the original one, but thats just my preference :eatcorn

so did you just take the original stickers off then? I have an 01 in black and i'm thinking if i take the stickers off the seat unit then i could put a plain black seat hump on.

yep just took the originals off....and yes you can :thumbup

To be honest, i much prefere the original one, the 2nd photo of your bike looks really good. If it was me i'd have gone for some replacement decals from ckruzel over on the AF1 forum.

factory look for me matey. The blue is quite unique as it is, imo it needs no more than the factory look to stand out

Sorry mate, i prefer the original as well, personally i don't like loads of stickers dotted here and there and there are too many colours around the bike, your bike is nice and clean though fella:thumbup

nice one. I thought as much. Did a similar thing to my old ninja. All those stickers look rubbish when they get old. Far better to take them off for the stealth look.

you guys have to admit though the factory theme is a bit...."novice"...huge "aprilia rsv" on the side and number plates that have a somewhat corny lightning bolt effect.."V60" done in red. I mean really how many times should your bike say aprilia on it? I thought the factory stuff made the bike look too poser and I wanted to do something that extenuates how raw and race the bike really it. Either way I'm still battling with if changing it over was the right thing to do as far as looks, but I just couldn't live with it the way it was. Maybe I could have met it somewhere in between.

Btw I live in Green Bay Wisconsin here in the states and NO ONE, I mean NO ONE owns an aprilia around here, so I'm always asked what the bike is...is that a "Rotax"? what's that?? :jack

At the end of the day mate it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of your bike, if you like it, then thats all that matters :thumbup

:nana you're just jealous that you're forced to live with the 00'...the stickers "the italian stripes" look cheap because they are. It was done that way to decide if i wanted some professional decals made......does anyone have any other suggestions for the direction of the bike?? different paint, stickers, whatever??:eatcorn
