mpl slave issue

ok, got my mpl slave which hopefully will be sweet. However, i've removed the old one and when i tried to put the mpl in place it wont fully go on, I then noticed the old one is a lot thicker, am i missing something here or do i have the wrong one? they seemed to know what they were talking about! I have taken a comparison pictue but have no clue how to post it on here! any help massively appreciated!

You need to seperate the old one, it has a small spacer on it and this fits onto the MPL one as well.
Let me know if you need any more help.

ah right so the bit i've removed is effectively two bits? i thought that might be the case but give it a 'jiggle' and they didnt seperate!!

just managed to seperate em with a bit of brute force! however as i did the spring n piston thing fired out! which way round does that go inside the 2 pieces??

I cant see how to get the spring n piston from the old one onto the new one so i'm guessing i dont need it! bashed it on without but cant get anything out my clutch at all just loose as hell! oooohhhh dear!

I am 80% sure, that the mpl thing come complete, bolt off/ bolt on !!! Bleed the system like a mofo,,,,,

Yup!!!! Gasboy is right, they are a complete unit so no need for any springs to be fitted to the new one, though you wanted to know just to put the old one back together.

You need to bleed the cylinder first then the top one by the fluid resevoir.

Yeah i had to do the same, bleed at the MPL and at the clutch lever, it wasn't until i bled at the lever that the clutch came back, feels awesome now...and the bike goes into neautral! had a few problems with the gilles though and gave up bleeding the rear brake - taking it to a garage 2moro morning to finish the job off

sweet well its on and seems to work, bled it at the master but i had to get a new bleed nipple screw in bit and the one i had has no no hole in like the old one and bleeding doesnt seem to work from that end. it does however seem to work when i took it round my estate, would i be able to tell quickly if i'd done anything wrong?

Yes, the clutch will feel bloody awful or there will be fluid leaking.
Make sure you get the last bits of air out, pump the clutch lever, hold it closed and release the bleed screw (cloth wrapped around is a good idea) and do up again quickly.
