Motor Oil, whats best or whats everyone using?

Okay, another noob question. I cant find a thread with it here so I'll ask. What are yall using? I like Motul full synth but have heard it can make some clutches slip. Ive never had this problem and have run it exclusively in the majority of my girls. Whats the consensus? Thank you al for putting up with my questions, I appreciate your time and efforts.
 
I usually use whatever is on offer.:yes
The local Hein Gericke recently had some Shell semi synthetic on offer,...that'll do for me.
 
Same as Keith, my only loyalty is to my wallet not brands of oil.
As long as its half decent and changed fairy regular roberts your mothers brother.
 
haha, just read that wrong for a start , thought you asked if it is ok to run it on WD40
 
I was running 15/50W fully synth Putoline

Now running 10/40W semi synth Silkolene (cos i had 4 ltrs of it knocking around)

both are fine on the clutch

Dinnae underestimate the value o the auld WD40 tho, essential part o yer weekly health regime

an 15/50 Putoline last filter change fur me but as its nae the easiest tae get a hold of up here am please tae hear the good old standard 10/40 is workin fine.
 
Yes rico ,,, im a big user of the wd 40, every garage should smell of it.
 
You may want to stick with a semi or conventional because you may have an organic clutch if you have a first gen. Many have not had any probs with it, but some have and they believe it may stem from the synthetic oil. My first gen Mille had a slippy/grabby clutch when I used synthetic, and it was fine before the fill. Besides, you'll save some $. AF1 racing has some of the oil that is recommended by Aprilia if you want that.

Early Ducati 600's and 750's with the wet clutch had the same problem.
