mot fail

Spalding uk
well, after much fiddling and waiting for parts I finally finished my mille - for now-
took it for mot and it failed: why? well I put a new chain and sprockets on 16/44 and he said that there was not enough clearance between chain and lower fairing!
is this right?
Also before I took it in for mot I found out that hid's and led's and now illegal on motorcycles - fekkin pain as I had just split the lamp and spent ages getting it right.-another cost but found another lamp but even that was a failed.why? the seller didn't mention it was an eu lamp and not uk.
sorted and passed now as I put 41t sprocket on rear, but need to know if there was any danger of the chain hitting the lower fairing? anyone know?

The chain hitting the fairing is not a usual problem. Could it be the fairing mounting has bent ? When these bikes get dropped they bend mountings. Bend it away from trouble. I heard HIDs are illegal on some bikes. The LEDs I don't think so ! Best you find a better mot er , the mot people VOSA or whatever they call themselves are expecting a 35% fail from all mot stations and all testers and all vehicle. Governmental. ....

yep think I wont go there again.
was new chain + sprockets so would have been tight.
I couldn't see a problem as there was about 5mm clearance, but hey ho those that are picky.
going now to swop back the sprockets
