How is braking assessed for mot is it combined front and back or separate as my back brake really does nothing !!

If it doesn't work it will fail the MOT. They are tested on a roller and the stopping power shows on a machine.

I wouldn't worry about it, Pikeman. Just so long as the brake pedal feels like it's doing something it'll be fine. The RSV I had had the same issue - sailed through the MOT with no probs at all.

Did your bike not have a12 months ticket when you bought it ?

yo pikeman - night before mot, weight the rear brake pedal down with something then should have enough bite the next day for the mot :thumbup

A fud who asks lots of questions but never says thanks for the replies.

Manners cost nothing kids.

I don't get it. Went out on mine on Saturday and tried back brake just to test it and it worked fine.most back brakes I found on previous bikes gsxr and bmw weren't great brakes but the t seems a bit better but not brill. My bmw's brake was pants. Maybe its just not tuonos but bikes back brakes in general. Perhaps manufacturers don't make them too sharp with size 12s whacking 14 stone on them. Can hardly feather a brake mid corner like with your fingers

Nah, all bikes I've had previously over nearly 30 years have had back brakes that will lock the back wheel relatively easily. Not the Tuono.

None of my previous bikes would have locked back wheel. That's why I've just tended to use the front one

Brake testing for an MOT is accessed by each wheel being being individually tested on a roller tested, if the brake does not perform as it should then it will fail (or should do!). Unless the bike has combined brakes, which Aprilia's don't. Easy answer is get the brake working, and as we all know, that means constant attention with a Tuono/RSV.

bay, speak fir yersel, with size 12s whacking 14 stone on them

MCM, welcome mucker and while yer at it get right into them fuds.

Would I be wrong to assume that a vehicle manufacturer should be responsible fir producing their vehicles with operational equipment not least a working brake system.
