For a while now "Frankie" has suffered from an intermittant sticky throttle.
The only consistancy is that it only ever happens at low speeds.:jack

Throttle snaps back to the stop properly (sounds like yours Alan), I have stripped and cleaned the the throttle , lubed the cables etc etc it's almost like the butterflies dont close properly.:pirate

As its intermittant and I cannot replicate it at will, I am not sure where to go next....................anybody got any clues ??

Are the 2 bolts holding the throttle housing to the clip-on over tight? This can cause the throttle to stick?

When I saw and felt it Scott it felt like it was more like the grip/housing binding than a cable or TB issue.

And thats what I was thinking but I cannot see how it could be random (intermittant for the posh folk) and only at low (ish) speeds.

If it was binding surely it would be constant ??

TBH If you've stripped down the throttle housing etc... and it's all free and the TB butterflies are snapping back then it has to be a cable issue.

New cables, all the oil in the world won't help a worn out inner liner or kink in the bowden cable.

Are you sure its not your arthiritis in your right wrist due to too much ****............ing.

Ps that will teach ya to take the mick out of me on my Fuel injeckshion thread :nana

It pains me to say it , but Alan you are correct :pirate

The cable adjuster fell apart in my hands tonite ...so yup I reckon it could be cable related :rant

Question is , Frankie being Frankie has Falco clipons, do standard Mille throttle cables fit ?..............................:dunno

I cannot offer a solution, but find that compared with my zx6r my rsv throttle return springs (if there are such things) are not as strong and I find I sometimes run into bends with more gas than expected.

Okay so where can I get a set of new cables or at least as near as new before Friday ?

Scott, A bloke on fleabay has a set of cables for an 03. I've done a bit of checking and the part numbers are the same as an 00. Don't know with the falco bars though, but might be worth a go so Frankies on the road for the long weekend. Ebay Item number: 230321115376, 35 green queens or best offer.
Good luck M8

Should be the same mate, those Falco bars only raise the bars a small amount anyhow. :thumbup

If they don't fit I'll take em off your hands.:devious
