Need some help on this .Yesterday after a spirited ride in the warm sunshine whilst riding home got a whiff of petrol thought nothing of it then smelt it again
mmmmm ?
Got home and heard the fuel cap hissing slightly so unlocked it on opened the fuel cap and whooooosh out came an almighty blast of fuel vapor WTF god job i am not a smoker!
Where the bike was parked in the sunlight i could also see a vapor trail comming out of one of the fuel vent hoses
Got the tank up and had a look at the hoses no apparent crushing or kinks can blow up and suck out of all the hoses
So the only thing i can think is
1- is there any sort of valve in the tank breather hose that may be restricted so the vapor is venting too slowly or
2- is there any venting on the fuel cap that may also be not working as it should :confused
any help would be greatly welcome as i am off down to portugal for the GP in a weeks time:thumbup
have had the bike 2008 rsvr for over a year and it has never done this before and I was at Assen last year riding in heavy traffic in 32 degrees very sunny and hot weather
