Yes it will fit a 99-00 Gen 1 too.
Add an EPROM chip and race can and you will be very impressed.
I run one on my bike and the dip in power in the mid range is gone (adds 10bhp here) and it pulls all the way to the limiter.

Put it this way I have had an Optimate for years, but the last few bikes have not needed it. As you know the RSV is prone to battery issues so I brought a new one and have it connected just incase. She spotted it today and went off on one, I told her Ive had it ages and then she started off saying "Well whats wrong with the bike that it needs it? I suppose thats going to cost me money blah blah" See mate you will never win:thumbup
