Hi, anyone managed to successfully remove the outer headlight lens to clean the glass lens inside? Mine nearly failed its MOT last year because of it and its no better this year, mot due shortly!!! Looks to be glued in with silicone or such like.

Hi Mate,
I think you will have job on there , your right they are bonded together so very difficult to split the lens from the headlamp body. I had the unit replaced by Aprilia under warranty and guess what the new unit misted up a few weeks later. To be fair I had the same issue on my ZX10R so just learnt to live with it and after a ride they usually sorted themselves out.

I had the same probs with my daughters ford Ka , whip the bulbs out and dry out inside with hair dryer , should stay dry for mot .

there are similar issues with gen 2 clocks !! drill a very small hole in the bottom of clock case or headlamp back to create a vent hole !!!

Thanks for the replys chaps, the worst bit about it is the misting is between the lens and the bulb magnifying glass, looks more light a light coating of dirt, think its the reflective coating giving up!! you can't get between them without splitting the light, any ways, i've got the bike MOT'd so wont have to worry about it till next year, might keep an eye on evilbay and see if one comes up between now and then, £300+ for a headlight is a bit much!!!!
