Missing airbox lid rsvr

Hi all

I got this bike a few weeks ago RSVR, after stripping it down and checking it over, the air box lid was missing.

The injection intake flaps were covered in probably years of grime and *****, I pressume running it like this is not good. I have since cleaned the intakes and injectors and fitted an airbox lid.

Have any of you run your bikes with no lid andis it okay to do it?

its a common mod BUT it has to either have the seal round the base so it seals to the underside of the tank.
i have sock filters on the trumpets same as these here

you should never have lid off and no filter

Thanks, glad I have put the lid on, it runs fine enough with that on. I am getting a PC5 fitted soon. Thanks for the advice.

Scary to think the bike has been running a completly open air box....
