Since putting a beowulf can on , the bike just runs a tad rich at tickover as the tail piece is pretty black . Theres no running problems with it but I assumed as with a few exhaust manufacturers , theres no need to adjust anything clearly not. Again I expect the fueling to change at different revs ?

You can adjust the CO trimmers for idle and up to about 1/4 throttle. Beyond that you need a different eeprom or PC etc to alter the fueling.

The soot is not always a sign of an over rich bike. The mixture is going to be a bit rich at cold start and if you have an open race can the soot will collect at the exit which is the point the gases condense. On the oem can because it goes through a series of curves and baffles before exiting the gases have partly condensed and soot has collected internally.

Only way to be sure is a gas analyser.

I think I'll stick the cannon back on for now and see how it is for a while until I can decide whats best . Been for a run today and the bike feels a bit fluffy in some of the rev range .
