After only 2 weeks of ownership the mille is going in for a check up on the ever increasing rattle and grind form the engine:scared.I took it to coventry and back and the noise seems to be getting worse especially on accelerating but you can hear it even on tick over so im not happy with that as it never did this when i had it :bawling.I think it must be the cam chain that needs adjusting but i could be wrong, so ill look forward to getting the mille back soon . Hope the guys at the "HONDA :puke " garage can fix it fast.:dunno

You never know i might get a new engine out of this :yes.and if it is more than a camchain adjustment it will be a total re-build..:thumbup

its better to be on the safe side and get it checked out, with a bit of luck it will be just a quick tighten of summat...:thumbup

Fat bloke down the pub said dont ride it any more in case it seezes up, ive got a 40 mile trip to the dealers tomorrow and hope it dont seeze or maybe i should give them a ring and they could pick it up.:dunno.

Cant get the bike in til nexy thursday and the bloke at honda said not to ride it " but said it would be ok to ride it 40 miles to the garage:dunno.Sure is a risk doing that but hope it dont seeze up :thumbup. They will be giving me a loan bike til mine is fixed and i wonder what HONDA :puke they will be giving me :confused, maybe a new fireblade :jack.. or most probably a cb100:jack.

The mille is down but not out and will be missed for a whole week..:cry

mate get on it and thrash it go for the engine...I did..................

If it makes it 40 miles up the m6 ill leave it til about 2 miles from the garage and give it some welly:devious, a couple of weelies and see what happens.
Surely that will find out any problems:O, the bikes been fine up until a couple of days ago wen i took it out for a run to check the oil level and tha was fine appart from it sounds really bad now.
If it makes it up the m6 ill eat my hat :confused.

:scared..no no no ! Be better if they slipped in an 07 mille:thumbup

Hope all turns out V-Twin shaped mate....let us know if bike is Okelaydokelay!...you know us Northants Aprilias need to get together soon!!!

Soon as i have the news "good or bad " ill be letting you know:thumbup. yeah northants boys stick together, when the mille is back on the rubber road we will have to meet up :pirate.

Would it be quicker/closer to run up to Forza Italia at Siverstone??? Who appear to know what the fukc they're talkin' about????????????

Bikes still under warrenty m8 so bloody honda can fix it if they can, an if they cant they can replace the engine:pirate

They can't adjust the cam chain cos it's auto tensioned.

The tensioners can fail to pressurise though and a very thin oil can make it noisy.

Get them to check the oil pressure from the pump to be on the safe side too. Hydraulic tensioners ... fraught wid danger! :(

Steve sold the mille a long time ago got it back after it had been fixed took them about 6 months if i remember then Steve mounted part of his mum's sideboard to the top of the engine and then found that the power was to much to handle so he sold it and bought a eeeeeerrrrrmmmmm something less powerful and more upright to save the aching joints:thumbup

Fcuk sake Sharky give him some credit.... it wasnt actually a sideboard was it mate..........it was a welsh dresser... better quality wood :thumbup

Dont want people to think he is a cheap skate pikey :biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin

Steve your wood work GCSE did ya proud :jack
