Ok update from my last few threads.

My bike went in after a friend looking after it for a little bit for me but after recomendations on here to go see griff....i um'd and ah'd about going to see him not knowing him but hell im glad i listened to everyone!!!!

This guy has gone more than the call of duty for me.

Aprilia Performance, Tamworth, (01827) 28 55 00
Griff picked the bike up to start on with it thurs - with it not starting and needing a service.

I joked around saying to griff i needed the bike back for the weekend for a hooters meet :doug he said leave it with me he will see what he can do....... i was only joking.... :devious

got a call friday evening to say the bike was done  and was going to drop it back off for me saturday (today) so i would have it for the meet....

well he turned up and dropped it off along with 2 A4 sheets of things they have done....even to the point of replacing screws that were stripped and neglected....

further to him working on my weekend off, he stayed with me and showed me how to set-up the bike for me the handlebars, the clutch, the brake and clutch peddle...... now the bike feels 1000% better than it ever did i have been out from 1pm - 4.30pm i just didnt want to put it away...... all i can say is a huge thank you to all staff you have done a superb job:doug

and Roy thanks for cleaning the bike before its return, a future warning for anyone clean your bike before it goes.....i think Roy is having counciling after seeing mine :dunno:dowhat

thank you griff :thumbup amazing service and communication has been fantastic....

anyone thinking of getting something done on the bike go see this guy...no matter what the mileage do it...you will not regret it.....

will have everything in the future done by this guy :thumbup:thumbup

Good good!

Well im already in talks with Griff about servicing my machine, just need to get it all arranged.

Its good to hear what a good job he makes of his work. Reccomendation is the best form of advertising.

:thumbup

ooh you didn't set roy off did you :pirate:nana

Don't worry chris weve all been there matey me included and be more to come :thumbup

sounds like when the weather really pics up you'll be out all day everyday :inlove

Nice to see Griff getting recognition, it's good to have such an enthusiast in our midst:thumbup

I really need to have Griff come over to Brittany as my bike will need setting up before the isle of man in June.

Perhaps we can sort something out M8 ie ill pay for ferry tickets.

So what was the problem with it then Chris :dunno or did it just need a good service :dunno

Top praise indeed there mate :thumbup

i can gurantee price and quality of workmanship are the best around. The thing about griff is he gets more excited about OUR bike than he probably does his own :nana griff is without a doubt a natural talent on bikes:thumbup

you will not be upset custombike...

he even set off from mine and rang 5 mins later telling me i paid him £5 too much :laugh 'no griff i gave you that to get yourself a drink' i replied, this is how honest the guy is.

yup i set off Roy  i think when i leave there premises in person next time i will have 2 black eyes if i go in with it dirty :laugh

without a doubt, there are many manafacturers of bikes out there that dont have someone as good as this man and we should use him to our full advantage :devious

He set the bike up with me showed me how to do it, we then set the rear suspension unit up correctly and showed me how to work it out and what tolerance the suspension has.

So what was the problem with it then Chris :dunno or did it just need a good service :dunno

Top praise indeed there mate :thumbup

I dont go handing out praise too often its not my nature :laugh

but when someone returns something like this to me it has to be mentioned.

Tbh sprocker i think the bike was just set-up to ***** and crapped up inside everywhere, combined with black plugs this didnt bode well for starting :laugh

I think that was the problem, also the tuning of the bike was out, and running toooooooo rich waaaaaayyyyy too rich :laugh

HEY FUSEBOX

Now all you need to do is come over to Australia, set up a little shop in Melbourne!! :)

Not enough good guys over here. Sounds like you khave done enough for the guys over there, its time to help the little people over here in OZ :) :)

Cheers Pete

Tamworth, yeah not to far from me. Bike could do with a service and clean :)
What kind of prices does he do?
Never serviced the mille yet and haven't looked into it. He sounds a top guy. not like some of the other monkeys i've had service my bikes over the years :)

definately not a monkey :laugh

tbh its worth giving griff a call on monday to get a price as my requirements were very specific as it was full valve clearance check - full service, everything also try to fault diagnose the bike not starting...

a few things i have found since having it serviced there (bar all the problems that griff kindly sorted lol)

bike now selects neutral alot easier
smooth as hell due to the tuning set-up
bike gear changing is alot easier - no more fighting with the bike
i know the bike has been thoroughly done so i can ride in confidence again :thumbup

hope that helps :thumbup

I endorse everything nice said above. I travel from Bedford to Tamworth every time I want something done - a round trip of about 160 miles. Well worth it as I can feel the improvement straight away and I have confidence in the work carried out.

I'm sure Griff would love to pop over to Brittany on one of his tour dates, and Melbourne. Will you pay his fare too Ozmille?

I have just been "Griffed" myself which was an amazing experience. The attention to detail he gives is inspiring and actually sitting drinking tea all day and having a laugh whilst it is all done before your eyes makes it easily the best service experience I have ever had.

My 2003 RSVR shines like a new pin, is serviced and checked from end to end, is set up perfectly for me, has a lovely Hooked airbox (ta very much indeed Craig!) and is now sporting a very tasty set of Griffs own Aprilia Performance rearsets that look very subtle & trick, and like they were made especially for the bike (they were).

I am still grinning from ear to ear a day later and will be going for a blast later to make the most of a rare bit of winter sun.

Cheers

Phil
