Plz help,I've a 54 mille that was running fine b4 Xmas, now running rough, won't rev just dies,I've changed the plugs n fuel n still the same, removed the tank n cleared out breather holes, put the tank back on n now it won't start,it's trying but dies straight away then just turns over if I leave it for a few mins it'll try again, can anyone help, cheers

Hi, is the battery fully charged? I had a similar problem on my ZX9 once, turned out that the battery was knackered and was fine once replaced - fuel pump and ignition etc didn't have enough voltage. Might also explain why it doesn't start now?

Got to be worth a try to rule it out.

Check you didnt crease the fuel lines when you put the tank back on, lift the tank and double check everything, but DO NOT keep trying to crank it as its a sure fire way to trash the sprag !

Hi,battery is fine just got a new one,by the way what's the sprag ??,hence numb nuts, checked all fuel lines n all is ok,fuel pump buzzes, but still won't start, cheers anyways

In that case then have you seen the following link relating to dodgy wiring which can lead to poor charging/starting - apparently a common problem (I am only going by the research I did when looking into buying my new bike!)

And in answer to your 'sprag' question, it is a component in the starting mechanism on the bike which is also prone to failure - another common problem on these bikes.

I hear what you are saying, but if there is an irregular voltage being produced then it could be enough to produce a weak spark etc

Also, another common problem is the side stand switch - I believe that is quite an easy one to check/fix.

Can't tell you how to check for fault codes i'm afraid
