MIleage tyres

I am looking for a set of mileage tyres for my toy, an 02 RSVR, and although I can find the 180/55-ZR17 rear, I cannot find the 120/65-ZR17 front, it is either 60 or 70. I am particularly partial to Michelin Pilot Road 2, dual compound, high mileage and very grippy on the edges.
Help!!!

I had the pilot sports on mine and then changed to pilot road 2's........I think the pilot road 2's are superb..............:thumbup

Correct fitment size is 180/55/ZR17 120/70/ZR17. Michelin Road 2 are excellent or try these, same compound as pilot powers so mega grip but much cheaper. My rears on 4200 miles and has 1000 miles left yet.

Thanks for that, but the manual says 120/65-ZR17, so is it safe to go half size up?
Also, these tyres seem to be standard pilot road and not the dual compound...but thanks for that anyway.

My rears a pirelli Corsa 111, and is on the edge of legal at 1700 miles...:bawling:bawling

4200 out of a rear tyre, eek! whats youre secret. Mine only last 3.k max. supercorsas even less!
Ck

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that was high mileage for a rear. I've got about 2100 on mine at the moment and if it lasts to 2500 I'll be lucky!! I'm using 2CT's by the way. Although more mileage would be nice I remember how wonderful these tyres felt when first fitted so I think I'll be sticking with them..... amazing how quickly you stop noticing things and they become the norm, isn't it?

I'm surprised it's lasted so long too fellas :dunno , it's not as if i'm tootling around town all day either. Normally i get around 3000 miles for a back, think i'm going to try pilot powers next :thumbup

I was going through the tyre history of my other bike today, my Diversion, where I fitted a Michelin Road Pilot 2 (dual compound), and was astonished to work out that I have done 10,000 miles and still have loads of thread left. I asked the local Whatling Tyre place in my area for a price, and I know him as a biker, he rides a Gixxer 1000, and he got 8000 miles out of the rear, thrashing his bike, and getting his knee down. I would say: lets all get on the Pilots 2.....

Just fitted some of the new mich pilot sport hpx, seem pretty good to me and that 190 bad boy on the back looks sooooo wide...:inlove,so far so good will let ya know how they fare when i get back from le france....:biggrin

If you're happy with the grip Legs and getting that sort of mileage, why change? Just checked out the Michelin site to compare the Pilot Road 2's to the Pilot Power 2CT, the latter sacrifices a bit of durability for better dry grip although the wet grip is rated the same.
