Just been looking through receipts for work done on 04 factory and found one for "Stage 1 mapping ".Call me thick if you want but i aint a clue what this involved. Is there a next stage, what does it do:dunno.Rennsports what do you think,i know they grip but feck me it tips in a tad sharpish.Great forum you guys helped me out twice already:thumbup

stage 1 mapping is what the bike has out of the factory for the standard exhaust cans. if you buy a set of open aftermarket cans, you will need to switch to map 2 which i think costs around £30. don't know about the rennsports, never had them.

Bike has Akro SP pipes original pipes in box.Does this mean a visit to dealer for re map?If so any good dealers in North Yorks to do the work.

what does the bike run like with the akro's on? i don't understand why you have a receipt for map 1 but have akro's fitted. if the bike runs fine its probably on map 2 already.

a stage 1 tunbe is a motoring industry term for minor tune ie: mapping

It would indiucate to me a switch to open loop mode Variant/map 2 for open cans

Original pipes not been on the bike since i bought it so cant compare with Akro SP`s but bike seems fine.Love the bang crackle pop on down changes!Steep learning curve after years of Jap fours as this bike has "Character"be that good or bad?

bang crackle pop on the overrun......
Thats not right mate you need to get the throttle bodies balanced......one cylinder is running lean if thats whats happening!

Never tried rennsports sounds the shizzle though!

:thumbup I have had the renns on my 07 and they worked good when heated up but they go away pretty fast. I got 1500 miles on them .and get it sweitched to map 2 for sure griffs the man he knows :thumbup
