Hi guys whent into M&S in newcastle today to ask when they are going to get a rsv4 in as a launch bike they stated they would not be getting one. i then asked the salesman if they are still aprillia dealers and his answer shocked me he said he didn't think so ! i have suspected this for a long time as they have had no new models in the show room for ages, another one bites the dust. anyone know who the nearest dealer is to Newcastle

i got the same response when i went in a couple of weeks ago,the salesman said they were also looking to stop doing ktm's aswell.

I found out a few weeks ago that my local bike shop is no longer an Aprilia dealer.

I was told that Aprilia UK fooked them about to much and they were pissed off with it.

I got the same story from Petite and France in Redcar 2 weeks ago.

Were gonna have to get Griff up here for a few days .... :D

Sign of the times I think.

My local dealer is Duc,Yam, Bimoto, and Triumph ,I heard a rumour (although NOT from them ) that they were going to drop Yam cos the R1's are the only things selling and they are unobtainable, and I believe the market for Duc's has just about dried up.

They sold their demo R1 as they couldn't supply any bikes after customers had test ridden it and tried to place orders!

They told a mate of mine that " Triumph are the only bikes keeping us in business"

I think between the price of new bikes going thru' the roof due to the currency problems, and more people losing their jobs that dealers are going to see some very hard times.

Where that leave Aprilia who knows?

ive spoke to a few local dealers recently and they all said despite the current economic situation business is booming and he showed me the order forms for that sat morn,he had took 9 deposits in the first 4hrs of opening.he said the biggest problem now was the lack of good quality second hand bikes around due to alot of them been sold to europe because of the exchange rate. when i was at m+s they were filling a lorry full of second hand bikes to be shipped to a dealer in germany.
