Morning all,

What are your thoughts on the best luggage solution that uses the least bolt on ironmongery ?

Cheers

Frankie

I use a thin tankbag , oxford sports humpback panniers across the seat but supported on 2 home made frames inspired by an unknown brand , and a rolltop bag across the the seat with the ends resting on the panniers .

this set up has served me well for several years , with the ability to carry enough stuff for 10 days away abroad .

I don't bother with bungee straps ( too unreliable ) but I do use releasable big cable straps . thee are much quicker and will not come undone and are far more secure .

the pannier supports bolt to the rear exhaust hanger rear bolts and the rear bungee strap bobbins ( gen 2 ) , I got the idea from some highway hawk ***** the Harley owners use , mine are made from bent and welded rebar rod , and have proved very rigid and protect the panniers rubbing on the zorsts ,, !!!!

i looked at ventura racks , a lot of people swear by them .

i just swear at them ,as they push far too much weight too far back for my liking .

I use a Famsa tank Bag + Ventura pack:

Tank bag fastens to a harness as its a plastic tank - its expandable and can use it in many different size combinations...

Ventura - I never carry a pillion on the T so i have the pack over the rear seat..... rather than hanging off the back...

(You could just use the ventura rack..... and put whatever you want on to it.... The hoop / rack part is easily removable with a small allen key if it bothers you when your having days without luggage..... i just leave it on for the whole trip...)

Works very well...... for me.....

anyhow..... good luck with your luggage search... once youve decided what you want then have a browse around some of the forums (Tuono & RSV) and maybe place some wanted adds....im sure there is still excellent quality second hand stuff around ....

I must admit the ventura kit looks an absolute doddle to use for touring , and mounted as felix has done would be more stable than shown in the ventura blurb !!!.
