There is a lot of enthusiasm on here for these bikes, what is it that makes you so enthusiastic about your own bike, what particular features are you more enthusiastic about, so we know which model you are talking about, put a pick of your bike in the post so we know which model you are enthusing about:thumbup

Who's first:eatcorn

:inloveI just love everything about my bike.:inlove It is soooo frikking sweet. Everywhere I take it people ask about it. On the whole these bikes are fairly rare (in comparison with the jap fours) so they always attract attention even from people who arn't usually into bikes. But I would say the thing I love best about my bike is the bloody loud Akra!
:thumbup

Quite simply, pure riding enjoyment. I love the way my Mille R looks, rides, handles, stops and goes. I've never ridden a bike that gives so much back. It's also a proper sized bike, i'm just over 6ft, 13 stone and to see how small the Jap bikes are now is a joke. Monkey riding a scooter ?

I went for a ride out yesterday to George Whites in Swindon who are a large Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki Suzuki dealer. There wasn't one new bike i'd swap my 6 year old Millie for, so that pretty much says it all really. For me next year is new bike year, it'll be between the KTM RC8 and new RSVR 1200, but in the mean time i'll be enjoying my 6 year old Millie R :thumbup

'07 Bol D'or - big Italian V-twin. With aftermarket cans it now sounds and rides better. They just have so much soul!! Additionally, the amount of quality parts that are used as standard on a not overly expensive bike.

Look, go, handle, reliable (I hope) - what more do you want?

01 rsv...even though at the moment she looks a bit dog eared, with faded decals, damaged forks and a few stone chips,i still wouldnt get rid of her.just starting her up cheers me up and blippng the throttle just puts a grin on my face.she may not make 3 million bhp like the new il4s,but who cares.my mille is fast enough for me and i just love it. :thumbup

MY06 RSVR my favourite thing about it is the noise out of the Tigs,it sounds like a friggin plane!next I love the way the bike handles on bumpy Irish roads and everytime I look at the bike it brings a smile to my face:thumbup

Well I like all most everything about my 01 mille the pure grunt the styling and the riding position.

hi

yer realy do enjoy a good position, but its hard to find a good partner these days ha ha, but think ive found mine she's called mille.

All the above...... every time she sparks into life or even just looking at her makes me want ride it :thumbup just a dam sexy bike that sounds and handles like nothing else .

Itll turn heads every day , and every day ive took mine out someone wants to know about the bike and what its like. Its a passion for me after 20 + years of bikng and i know ill be keeping this baby for a long long time :thumbup

I'm going to answer this from a reverse stance......I don't like the battery/starting issues, I don't like the difficulty getting into neutral and I don't like the back brake disappearing...Having said that I'm prepared to live with all these issues (and more) as out on the road this bike just makes perfect sense & really does make riding a total thrill. I love the grunt & noise but most of all I love the way it makes speed seem sensible. No more screaming the **** off an in-line four for me!

I had a diet of IL4's and V4's and decided on seeing the first Tri-colour Mille pics, that is the bike for me, the Aprilia HQ used to be in Scotland 20 miles from me and i knew the MD and sales director well, arranged a ride on the first Mille in the country (the one that was in all the mags when it first came out).

Of i went for about three hours and just fell in love with it straight away, some people jump on them and take a while to get used to them, i gelled within an hour of throwing my leg over it.

Ordered one (at a large discount :pirate) and got a hand picked one (Hughie the head mechanic stuck a few on the dyno and found me a really good one), picked it up early in 99 and have had Mille's ever since.

Still got a soft spot for that bike

What attracted me to it, well the whole package really, but i think the engine characteristic's were the most appealing, when i first jumped on the demo one i kept hitting the rev limiter after jumping off a Blade, got used to it soon though.
The next thing on my list, back then anyway, was the exclusivity of them, you hardly ever saw one on the road and the crowds they drew was amazing.
People go on about Jap build quality, IMO they are not as well put together as the Aprilia's, OK we have niggles with them but they are easy to iron out, there are plenty of Jap bikes with niggles (not going to mention Ducati's:devious).

I bought an 01R after the Tri-colour, never really got on as well with that bike, still loved it but struggled to get it sweet handling wise.

Then bought an 04 Factory and turned my 01R into a track bike

Then decided to upgrade the track bike and converted my 04 Factory to the track, sold my 01R to a lad in Ireland and bought a nice 06 Factory

Now as you can see i am a bit of an Aprilia fanatic, i am not really a loyal buyer, but there is really nothing else out there that makes me look at it and say "I want that".

Anyway, i'm off out to the garage to change oil and filters/brake fluids etc on them and get ready for the track season kicking off.:doug

Had a great day out on mine today and did 200 miles.
Stopped at Squires Newthorpe, Sun inn Fewston and Helmsley and must of seen 300-400 bikes today and not one RSV :confused.
It was quite funny to be parked amongst so many GSXR,ZX10,R1,CBR bla bla bla and the old Mille still got more looks.

I hate mine, its a dog and a total money pit.

But then again i've never ridden it, and that usually fixes all woes with any bike then.
