Loss of power?

H

Hypnosis

Was heading back home today and went to overtake a car that was just plodding along as you do. Gave it a bit of throttle and lost power to the engine! It didn't cut out, dash was still lit but the revs just dropped and from nowhere she kicked back in again and shot me forwards (and skywards slightly :biggrin )

I'm thinking something to do with the fuel pump cutting out, dodgy wire somewhere maybe but wondered what everybody's thoughts were on it?

2004 RSVR by the way...

Evening! Could it be in infamous sidestand switch? It cuts the ignition (as far as I know) when it's on the blink.

Battery connections are all good. Sidestand switch is defiantly worth a look over though, ta!

hi , did you resolve this issue as i have the same problem ! .... main dealer cannot find the fault !!!

Did u resolve this problem? I have the same thing happening and it very random. Coil packs have been changed and new harness, haven't checked the side stand switch yet but have also found from searching that it could be the tilt sensor?

Check your fuel pump/filter. I had a problem with contaminated fuel (strange grit) which caused an intermittent splutter/loss of power and stall. Rinsed the tank and fuel pump and replaced the fuel filter and internal hoses, no problem since.
