According to Italian website*Motosprint, Ducati, in collaboration with sponsor Marlboro, have offered Jorge Lorenzo €7 million*to ride the D16 next season. This value is twice as much as what Yamaha is offering Jorge, and allegedly €2 million more than what Lorenzo was asking from Honda.

Ducati seems to think that with Honda tying up Pedrosa and Dovizioso, they can buy Lorenzo away from Yamaha, and ensure a top-talent on the team for 2010, in case Stoner’s absence becomes longer than 3 races.

According to paddock gossip, Ducati has made signing Lorenzo its top priority. We haven’t heard how receptive Lorenzo is to the deal, but if money is truly the Spaniard’s hang-up with Yamaha, then Ducati seems to be the right fit. You have to imagine how much Lorenzo would like to not only beat Rossi for the Championship, but do it also on an “inferior” machine.

he'd be stupid to go with ducati. why bother? he's on probably the best bike, he's a very strong challenge to one of the best riders ever and in some cases been quicker than him.

if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I know that if someone would offer me that kind of money... I would brake it :D

nobody else will be able to ride the duke like stoner, not lorenzo, not rossi, just one man Stoner

I hope he does go and it all goes wrong like Hayden and Melandri. He may be a great prospect for the future but he has no right in demanding the same recognition/money as Rossi. Maybe after he has won 8 world titles but until then he should just be happy to be in such a great team and on a fantastic bike. Would be nice to think that JT would get the bump up to full factory but that will never happen. And with the new rules not too sure who would take the ride, De Angelis or Caparossi maybe:dunno

It be good to see what he can do on differant make bike and 7mil i will have a go for free:devious
