Aye FFIII 440 miles in the first day with no problems at all. Nae sair bits, but we were nippin on at times so yi dinna feel it so much that way. Plus the 100 mile pit stops help. I think if the roads were motorways or dullers then it would seem a lot further. I reckon I could easy have done anothir hunner miles nae buthir.

The Gen 2 seat ain't the comfiest, but as long as you stay on the twisties and move around a bit it's fine. Long motorway journeys aren't fun though.

I regularly do 200 mile rides, longest in a day probably 350 -400 miles. No probs at all, way better than any sportsbike (as long as you keep it under a ton to save the neck muscles!).

A gallon - so depends how you ride, about 300miles for me as I short shift straight from 1st into 6th?

What you on about I have a go at you. Not me guvnor. I love looking in my rear view mirror and wondering if I'm riding on the right side of the road cos you're on the opposite side to me.

God you just don't shut up do you. Blinking 'eck I have now such a complex I don't think I'll ever ride again.

I keep telling you, I like it on the wrong side of the road - it's called using all available space, and it's an advanced riding technique (you wouldn't know that as you passed your bike test last week or something) :thumbup

No worries, when the light comes full on I tend to head for some juice though, even though you can do an easy 20 miles. It flickers for a bit anyway to begin with, angle of bike & sensor etc.

I've fitted a Sargent seat ti mi T but only done aboot 70 miles on it so nae sure how much a difference it will mak. I can say that it disna look much/comfy/padded, but it is shaped better I think.

In all seriousness Daz Stix regularly gets about 10 to 20 miles more than me out of a tank and I was on standard sprockets at the time whereas he had 16/44 on his at the time. Correct me if I'm wrong on your sprockets fella as I can't remember whats on mine now and I had them changed last service.

Thats from us filling up to full at the same service station. Anyway on the roads we tend to ride on I hardly get into 6th whereas he does. I just prefer riding with the bike revving a little higher I plus the T hasn't got a gear indicator.

Before my service people said they could smell petrol when riding behind me so it was probably running a little rich in the fuelling department. Had it serviced just before the winter hibernation so it'll be interesting to see what the mileage consumption is compared to Stix this spring.

So all in all I guess what mileage you get from a tank depends on your riding style even at similar speeds. What I will say though is that I think and its just my opinion that the Gen1's seem to get a bit better fuel consumption than the Gen2's although when I reset my odometer at fill ups I tend to start looking for petrol station signs at about the 100mile mark.

Hope that helps a little

Yes 16/44 and I don't fill it right up either, fill up on the sidestand and don't try and properly brim it.

I'm not a revver though, use 6th as bay says loads more than he does.

I don't even bother thinking about fuel until 110 miles has gone, as I don't think I have ever done less than 115 to a tank.

I think bay is right about the Gen1/2s as when riding with trickymicky he was getting anxious after about 60 miles on his Gen 2 :eek2

We are talking Tricky though. He hasn't got a throttle on his bike. Its an on off switch.

Best I've got out of my Gen 2 is 125 miles before the light's come on, worst 75 miles. Normally comes on around the 100 mile mark.

bay, tell him next time tae fill the tank.
