Lights, Battery life etc

I have tried doing a search and couldnt find anything. Either my searches are worded wrong or im just pants lol.

Does anyone know if there is a specific reason why there is no light on and off switch incorporated into the switch gear? Has anyone tried wiring one in, how difficult was it to do?

I believe that only the Gen1 bikes (up to 2003) had manual light switches, from Gen2 they were set to permanently on to meet some stupid euro legislation or some such nonsense.

You could switch them but its a hell of a lot of work.

Mine is a gen 1 without a light switch.......always on for me!
